Cochon was by far a pleasant experience while visiting New Orleans. We had this venue specifically on our radar to dine when during our stay and it really met our expectations. I was expecting an older set ambiaunce but to my surprise it was more of a modern feel. Brilliant. The venue is booming with guests,so reservations are highly recommended. Even with our reservation, we were sitted in a table set for two, which tells me they really need every seat in the house! Great service from both the waiter and back server with constant check ups, silverware changes, and perfect food and drink knowledge. The food itself was just as expected. Top tier presentations, timing and flavor profiles were just amazing. We tried so many things but one that just keeps coming back to my mind was the gumbo. I know that there are different variations with different spices but this one was just extraordinary. It brought me back to childhood mole memories with my grandma, not because of the taste but I could sense all the spices and texture were done specifically with a certain flavor in mind. Bravo! Right around the corner is another venue that is part of the same place from my understanding and offer a different type of menu. We did not have a chance to dine there but it will most definitely be one to try on our next trip out.

Food, service and ambiance checks off all boxes. My wife and I had a great time here. For starters, they provide the best unlimited buttery dinner rolls. The pork belly is a must and if you're daring , the fried alligator is the adventure you seek. I wasn't too fond of the rabbit but I still enjoyed it. I will be return on my next visit

First off, shout out to our server Josiah for impeccable service. He was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Helped a newbie like me make the best decision for my belly The restaurant is a well oiled machine from servers to hosts. My friend and I were running behind and needed to know the wait time. Called the restaurant and hostess gave such an accurate time. Luckily, despite being a friday, there was ample seating and no wait times. Though, I heard that typically things don't get busy in nola till 7-8 ish. I recommend adding yourself to the waitlist anyways as it can get busy quickly. The interiors are a mix of upscale shabby chic warehouse, exposed brick and wooden tables. Dress up or casual wear. The food was phenomenal! Everything was cooked perfectly, i ordered the catfish coutboullion (pronounced "coo" "boo-li-yon" ) lol...getting the right pronunciation in new orleans is a feat in of itself...my friend had his usual rabbit dumplings. The dumpling is almost Luke a biscuit/ cornbread stuffing texture and pieces of rabbit in the sauce. The Catfish was fried, flakes, and juicy. Though my only slight picky preference is that the popcorn rice is underneath as it's more visually appealing. Next up the starters were on point. Major chefs kiss! Warm soft bread with homemade butter. Alligator tail mixed with chili mayo is divine. Not too tough and soft. For those who are hesitant, I'd highly recommend trying it as it has more protein, omega 3 fatty acids, and much more. It has a tender texture vs chicken. Parking is street only All in all, I'm very pleased with my first experience not only in new orleans but at Cochon's. Leaving me with a stellar impression of nolas culinary scene.

Cochon in New Orleans is a top tier dining experience, I was absolutely blown away. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, making me feel pampered throughout my visit. I sampled some top-shelf whiskey, and the bartender did fantastic pours, enhancing the overall experience. The 5-year aged prosciutto and ham were delicious, perfectly complemented by the spiced pecans that balanced the saltiness of the ham. The wood-fired gulf fish prepared Fisherman's style was second to none out of all my meals in New Orleans. It was seasoned fantastically and cooked to perfection - moist and flavorful without being squishy. For dessert, I had the peanut butter ice box, which was simply divine. The ice cream had a subtle peanut flavor, and the hard chocolate shell added an elegant touch to the dish. Cochon went above and beyond to make up for my initial experience, and the outstanding food and exceptional service made my return visit unforgettable. I highly recommend Cochon for anyone looking to enjoy an extraordinary dining experience in New Orleans. Five stars all the way!

A must visit in New Orleans! This might have been our favorite restaurant during our whole trip. First of all, I need to talk about the bread rolls. Literally the best bread I've had in my entire life, how do they do that?? There is something so fluffy and flavorful about them, I had 4 before our food even came out. I'm going to be dreaming about them for a long time We ordered the pork belly special, which paired well with the pickled side accompaniments. We also got the fried alligator (does indeed taste like pork-chicken), and the rabbit stew. The alligator was delicious, 10/10, but it seems that I do not like rabbit. My fiancé liked that dish a lot though, so maybe it is objectively good. Our server was really sweet and friendly, and overall the ambiance of the restaurant is nice and cozy. Would definitely revisit again!

Cochon has been serving up consistently spectacular dishes for years. Every time I've eaten here, the food has been memorable and cooked perfectly. This time I had the pork chop with a side of grits. The pork chop was moist and juicy, and the grits exploded with flavor. The service is always great at the bar and in the restaurant. This is a great place for an elevated dish with a classy yet casual vibe.

We came in for a late lunch, recommended from my sister who visited a few months back. Walking in, there's lots of indoor seating a few tables outside. The walls are accented with rustic decor and towards the back you can see their open kitchen and a large wood fired oven. We were served warm bread rolls with butter upon seating, we also got amazing wood fired oysters, delicious, buttery, with a small hint of heat. The bread tasted amazing dipped in the cooking liquid left on the plate. The shrimp stew was hearty. Large plump shrimp with hushpuppy like dumplings withe cooked down kale in a a savory broth. I also had a bite of the gumbo, so tasty. Would recommend to try. The salad was good, very much on the tart and tangy side. It's topped with pickled corn, tomatoes, dill and a tangy vinaigrette. Our servers were attentive and polite, kept checking in on us throughout our meal. They were all great.

My last meal in NOLA and I'm still thinking about it. My friend and I made reservations, but we didn't need it for a Saturday afternoon. Staff was friendly and we loved the vibe in the restaurant. So quaint and cute! We ordered: -in bloom (cocktail) - myyyy type of drink - light, refreshing, not sweet. Enjoyed it so much that I wanted to recreate it at home! -fried alligator - good, but not sure I'd get it again -wood-fired oysters - we weren't planning on getting it, but the tables next to us got it....and O. M. G. I'm soooo glad we did. We saved our bread to dip into the sauce..so much yum. -fried boudin - probably my second favorite dish! paired perfectly with the mustard and pickles -louisiana cochon - my friend's favorite. I don't eat much pork, but it was cooked so well!! so juicy. -pineapple upside down cake - their specialty dessert. I LOVED it. "not too sweet" and the coconut sorbet was the cherry on top! Def recommending this to anyone visiting NOLA.

We all liked the fried alligator and the oysters. I wasn't very impressed with the gumbo. It didn't have a lot of flavor to me just kind of salty. My daughter-in-law got the fish and said it was very good. The place was comfortable, but the air air conditioning was up a little high, so I got a little chilly. The booth we sat in comfortable. Our waiter had a little bit of an attitude when we had asked him about one of our entrées, but overall, it was a fairly nice place

I visited New Orleans recently, so I had to figure out what the best restaurants in town were. Coincidentally, I discovered that both Cochon and the associated Cochon Butcher were both loved and admired around town. So I went to both! I came here for lunch on day two of my trip, and I was very satisfied with everything. The ambiance was both upscale and super chill and comforting at the same time. I feel like I could eat a baked Alaska in that environment, but I could also just eat a BLT in that environment. Very pleasing. As for the service, it was also good. Nice, friendly guy, was quick to tease out the details of each dish, with such a small, tight menu. Helped us make our decisions. We started off with the free, freshly baked rolls with some nice, room temperature butter, for easier spreading. Warm, soft, a lovely way to feed our appetite before the main events came out. I got the catfish courtbouillon & popcorn rice. This dish was reminiscent of an etoufee. Amazingly tender catfish filets sitting in a pool of very fragrant broth and lusciously cooked veggies. Topped with some fun looking popcorn rice, whatever that is. A nice dish that's very elevated New Orleans. I was a fan. I also got to try another amazing dish, the rabbit & dumplings. This thing was amazing. Think rabbit pot pie in a cast iron skillet, but the top crust is a bunch of drop dumplings. Uh, wow. Again, meat and veggies cooked perfectly. The dumplings were cooked juuust to the point of being brown and crisp on the outside, looking like biscuits. Everything came together beautifully, and this was honestly one of the best dishes from my whole trip! Get this. As for dessert, we got the Pineapple Upside Down Cake (cherry lime sorbet & ginger crumble, caramel). This was nice. warm cake with very small, manageable pieces of pineapple on top. It was an interesting pairing with the limey sorbet and the ginger crumble. I'm sure that hits right on someone's palate. Overall, this was a banger. Just as good as it's Butcher sibling at delivering what it was promising. A memorable experience, and I hope to return one day!
